On May 16, 389 expected graduates – 109 medical doctors, 46 physician assistants, 80 with doctorates and 154 with master of science degrees – in the Class of 2024 received their degrees from Weill Cornell Medicine during the institution’s annual commencement ceremony at Carnegie Hall.

A historic investment from Board of Fellows member Israel Englander will advance Weill Cornell Medicine’s growing research enterprise and support critical initiatives throughout the institution. 

Located one block from Weill Cornell Medicine’s main campus on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the site will add approximately 200,000 square feet of dedicated research space. 

The institution is constructing a modern new student residence that, when it opens in 2025, will expand the scope of the institution’s Upper East Side campus and nearly double the existing student residential living space.

Dr. Harrington, a cardiologist and chair of the Department of Medicine at Stanford University, will begin his new position on Sept. 12.

More than 350 expected graduates – 104 medical doctors, 86 with doctorates and 190 with Master of Science degrees – in the Class of 2023 received their degrees from Weill Cornell Medicine during the institution’s annual commencement ceremony at Carnegie Hall on May 18.

The Class of 2023 comprises 23 women and 19 men from 13 countries, including 12 Qatari nationals, and brings the total of doctors educated at WCM-Q to 546 since its inaugural graduation ceremony in 2008.

Dr. Curtis L. Cole, M.D. ’94 has been appointed the university’s inaugural vice president and chief global information officer.

A $20 million gift from Andrew H. ’71 and Ann R. Tisch will foster engagement and collaboration between Cornell Tech and Weill Cornell Medicine, catalyzing new discoveries at the intersection of health and technology.

Robert J. “Bob” Appel ’53, a vice chair of Weill Cornell Medicine’s Board of Fellows, Cornell trustee emeritus and presidential councillor, died Nov. 19 in New York, at age 91.
