Dr. Javaid I. Sheikh, dean of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, has been awarded the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Exemplary Achievement Award by Weill Cornell Medicine.

Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) awarded Cornell University medical degrees to 50 new doctors—the largest graduating cohort to date—at the institution’s annual graduation ceremony on May 9.

The Class of 2023 comprises 23 women and 19 men from 13 countries, including 12 Qatari nationals, and brings the total of doctors educated at WCM-Q to 546 since its inaugural graduation ceremony in 2008.

More than 400 students celebrated a milestone on May 19: graduating from Weill Cornell Medical College and Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. 

Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar awarded Cornell University medical degrees to 41 new doctors on May 11 during the college’s first graduation ceremony held in person since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar added 49 new doctors—12 of whom are Qatari—to the medical profession during commencement on May 8.

With their education behind them, the graduates will now embark on their residencies, postdocs, fellowships and other phases of their careers. But no matter where they go or what they do, Dr. Choi said, they need to remember what inspired them to pursue careers in medicine and science, and hold true to those ideals.
