The award will enable Sarah Qureshy to take a year off from her schooling to carry out hematology research. 

Dr. Greta Strong, an assistant professor of community outreach teaching in the Department of Neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine, received the U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.

The program has prepared Weill Cornell Medicine faculty members to grow into institutional leaders. 

Six teams pitched their innovations at the 2023 Biomedical Business Plan Challenge Final Pitch Day competition for $100,000 in prize money, which can be used to help build their company, with the goal of ushering in the next generation of life science innovation and patient care.

The Class of 2023 comprises 23 women and 19 men from 13 countries, including 12 Qatari nationals, and brings the total of doctors educated at WCM-Q to 546 since its inaugural graduation ceremony in 2008.

A scholarship program Weill Cornell Medicine created in 2019 reduces medical education debt for students with financial need, freeing them up to take full advantage of medical school, while pursuing a path in medicine based on their passions and interests. The program covers tuition, fees, housing and living expenses.

On May 5, Rubin was one of the 47 students in the Class of 2025 to receive their short white coats, gathered before an audience of faculty, family and friends at Griffis Faculty Club as part of the annual white coat ceremony.

In a celebration of Weill Cornell Medicine’s commitment to fostering inclusivity in academic medicine, the institution on April 25 honored nearly a dozen faculty, students and staff who exemplify excellence in diversity, equity and inclusion.

Weill Cornell Medicine is celebrating more than a century of excellence in medical education, scientific discovery and patient care, commemorating 125 years since its founding. The institution is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of the renaming of its medical and graduate schools on April 30, 1998, in deep appreciation for the exemplary leadership of longstanding supporters Sanford I. Weill and his wife, Joan Weill.

 The program's enduring goal during the past half century has been to create the next generation of leaders in biomedical research.

The annual Health Hackathon, held in person Feb. 17-19 and organized by Weill Cornell Medicine’s Clinical and Translational Science Center, brought together 136 student participants and 37 mentors from both the Cornell ecosystem.
