Dr. Alessandro Fichera, a prominent colorectal surgeon, has been named chief of the Division of Colorectal Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medicine, effective Oct. 14. 

Dr. Myles Wolf, an esteemed physician-scientist who specializes in nephrology, has been appointed chair of the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and physician-in-chief at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, effective July 1.

Dr. Juan Pascual, a leading pediatric neurologist, has been appointed chief of the Division of Child Neurology in the Department of Pediatrics at NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine, effective March 1.

Dr. Jennie G. Ono, a leading pediatrician who focuses on inpatient care, newborn medicine and pediatric asthma, has been appointed chief of pediatrics at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. Dr. Ono also serves as an associate professor of clinical pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine.

Dr. Sumit Gupta, a physician-scientist whose research focuses on vulnerable subpopulations of children with cancer, has been awarded the eighth annual Gale and Ira Drukier Prize in Children’s Health Research, Weill Cornell Medicine announced today. 

Dr. Bernhard Kühn, a leading physician-scientist who specializes in heart regeneration, has been named chief of the Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital, effective Feb. 1.

The Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI) announced it has added Weill Cornell Medicine to its network of preeminent academic and medical research institutions at the forefront of the fight against cancer. 

Located one block from Weill Cornell Medicine’s main campus on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the site will add approximately 200,000 square feet of dedicated research space.

Dr. Maya Hogg, a leading hospitalist, has been appointed chief of medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital and vice chair in the Weill Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine.

The institution is constructing a modern new student residence that, when it opens in 2025, will expand the scope of the institution’s Upper East Side campus and nearly double the existing student residential living space.

Dr. Jonathan Weinsaft, an esteemed physician-scientist who focuses on clinical research and cardiovascular imaging, has been appointed chief of the Greenberg Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, effective July 1.

Dr. Harrington, a cardiologist and chair of the Department of Medicine at Stanford University, will begin his new position on Sept. 12.

Dr. Natalie Uy, a leading pediatric nephrologist, has been named chief of the Division of Pediatric Nephrology in the Department of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital, effective April 17.

Dr. Omar Abdul-Rahman, a leading specialist in pediatric genetic medicine, has been named chief of the Division of Medical Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital, effective March 1.
