Weill Cornell Medicine and University of Southern California investigators have developed and tested the web-based platform, Living Memory Home for Dementia Care Pairs (LMH-4-DCP), which can help reduce grief and improve relationships.

Dr. Holly G. Prigerson, the Irving Sherwood Wright Professor in Geriatrics and co-director of the Cornell Center for Research on End-of-Life Care at Weill Cornell Medicine, has been awarded a National Cancer Institute Outstanding Investigator Award to study psychosocial influences on, and outcomes of, end-stage cancer care. 

When a loved one dies, memories of that person become particularly valuable in connecting the mourners with the deceased. A new Weill Cornell Medicine online application, called Living Memory Home, offers a virtual and personal memorial space that allows mourners to deposit their memories and feelings about their loss and honor their loved one.

Researchers from Weill Cornell Medicine and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center have published guidance on how physicians working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic can compassionately inform family members of the painful news that their loved one has died.
