Surrounded by friends and family, the 105 students in the Class of 2029 participated in Weill Cornell Medical College’s annual White Coat Ceremony on Aug. 12, officially marking the beginning of their medical education.
Weill Cornell Medicine faculty and staff were honored with Excellence in Medical Education Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to the institution’s medical education program and education mission.
In his new role, Dr. Safdieh will lead the institution’s Office of Medical Education and oversee the overall living and learning experience of Weill Cornell Medical College’s students.
When she was 5 years old, Reine Ibala and her family moved to the United States as refugees amid civil war in their native Republic of the Congo. Her father later developed hypertension and faced challenges as he navigated the U.S. health care system.
