In spring 2013, Manhattan resident Jeri Bloome was 92 years old but had the energy of someone decades younger. She peppered her schedule with tugboat rides on the East River, strolls along the Brighton Beach boardwalk, lunches in Chinatown and visits to the Metropolitan Museum of Art with her husband of more than half a century.
