Weill Cornell Medical College graduate Edward Nejat's award-winning photograph was added to the Medical College Library's collection on June 2, in a brief ceremony attended by Dr. Antonio Gotto, dean of the Medical College; Carolyn Reid, the Frances and John L. Loeb Librarian of Medicine at Weill Cornell's Samuel J. Wood Library and C.V. Starr Biomedical Information Center; and the Nejat family and friends. The photograph was the winner of the "Golden Harvest Award" for Best in Show at the 13th Medical Complex Art Show.

Nejat's interest in photography began simply as a way to document his memories. "Bar" was taken while Nejat was in Amsterdam last year with a friend. "I saw a cool scene at a cool bar in a cool city. So I took a picture," he said.

The photograph, located on the main floor of the Medical College Library, will be on permanent display. "I thought the Library was the perfect place to give because the art show brought me so much joy and inspired so much confidence in me," said Nejat. "I wanted to donate something that would put a smile on someone's face while at study."
