Dr. Mohammad Arifuzzaman, an assistant professor of immunology in medicine, was named a 2025 AAI ASPIRE Award winner by the American Association of Immunologists. The award recognizes up to six outstanding early career investigators for research accomplishments and professional promise in the field of immunology.
Dr. Veronika Horn, a postdoctoral associate in medicine, was named a 2025 Charles H. Revson Senior Fellow in Biomedical Science. The foundation’s Biomedical Research Program supports postdoctoral fellows at metropolitan New York academic medical institutions, fostering their talent and dedication in their pursuit of scientific knowledge for the public good. The program also seeks to advance New York as a center for innovation and excellence in biomedical research.
The American Headache Society recently recognized two Weill Cornell Medicine faculty members for their work advancing the field of headache medicine through groundbreaking research, dedicated service and innovative leadership:
- Dr. Matthew Robbins, the Louis and Rachel Rubin Foundation Education Scholar and an associate professor of neurology, received the Seymour Solomon Lecture Award, which recognizes a leader who has made outstanding contributions to clinical headache education.
- Dr. Bernice Grafstein, a professor emerita of physiology and biophysics, received a 2025 Distinguished Service Award, which is bestowed on people who have demonstrated long-term, meritorious service to both the American Headache Society and headache medicine. The award acknowledges Dr. Grafstein’s 1956 neuroscientific discovery that established the fundamental underlying mechanism of migraine aura.
