The Strang Weill Cornell Breast Center and Cornell Medical Imaging have opened in new quarters on the 8th and 9th floors of 425 E. 61st St.
The Breast Center is dedicated to the detection, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of breast cancer. Combining the expertise of physicians and surgeons from Weill Cornell's Department of Surgery and the Division of Hematology/Oncology of the Department of Medicine, the Breast Center offers an outstanding comprehensive breast health program. The surgeons located at the Breast Center are Drs. Alexander Swistel (medical director), Michael Osborne, Peter Pressman and Rache Simmons. The oncologists are Drs. Karen Green, Bonnie Reichman and Ellen Chuang.

Cornell Medical Imaging, a new outpatient imaging facility of the Department of Radiology, is equipped with the latest technological advances in breast and body imaging. Services include conventional and digital mammography, stereotactic and ultrasound-guided needle biopsies, gynecologic ultrasound, bone density scans, and the full range of CT scanning. The imaging facility will provide the imaging needs of the Breast Center as well as the Iris Cantor Women's Health Center scheduled to open at the same location next year. Dr. Ruth Rosenblatt, who continues to serve as director of Women's Imaging, will be based at the 61st Street facility.
"We are proud to be able to expand breast imaging services at this time, when economic pressures are causing many practices to reduce or eliminate such services," said Dr. Rosenblatt.
