Fashion Show Benefits Obstetrics and Gynecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was the beneficiary of funds raised at the Chanel/Bergdorf Goodman Luncheon and Fashion Show held on May 12 at Cipriani 42nd Street. More than 600 people attended to preview the Chanel 2003 Fall/Winter Collection.

The generous underwriting provided by Bergdorf Goodman and Chanel helped to raise more than half a million dollars, which will support the department's ongoing research for the early detection of ovarian cancer.

"The fashion show was truly beautiful—exceeded only by the beauty of the spirit of the event co-chairs who worked so tirelessly to make this the best show ever," said Dr. Frank Chervenak, chairman of obstetrics and gynecology at Weill Cornell and obstetrician and gynecologist-in-chief at NewYork Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Iris Cantor and Ruth Stanton were honorary co-chairs for the event. Benefit committee co-chairs included Sloan Barnett, Renee Belfer, Cheri Friedman, Nathalie Kaplan, Mara Landis, Susan Lawrence, Liz Mezzacappa, Lisa Perry, Pauline Baker Pitt and Jessica Seinfeld.
