Julie Rudnicki, Ph.D., alumna of the Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences, is director of International Project Management (Virology/Immunology) at Boehringer-Ingelheim.
Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences' Office of Career Services hosted a "Career Pathways Seminar" in December for students interested in the pharmaceutical industry.
The seminar was the third one for the academic year. The guest speaker was Dr. Julie Rudnicki, a 1995 alumna of the Cell Biology Program at the Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences, who is currently director of International Project Management (Virology/Immunology) at Boehringer-Ingelheim.
While at Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Dr. Rudnicki did research in the laboratory of Dr. Anthony M.C. Brown on her doctoral dissertation "Ectopic Expression of Wnt Genes in Avian Embryos by Retroviral Infection."
Francoise Freyre, assistant dean of Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences, said, "We were honored to have such a distinguished alumna as Dr. Rudnicki speak at our Career Pathways Seminar. Our students will benefit greatly from her experience and vast knowledge of the ever-changing pharmaceutical industry."
Dr. Rudnicki, whose office is in Ridgefield, Conn., lectured on challenging career options in the pharmaceutical industry for scientists interested in conducting research development for clinical, drug discovery, and drug development purposes. Dr. Rudnicki also spoke on career opportunities at Boehringer-Ingelheim, noting that the company employs approximately 27,400 people worldwide and about 5,700 people in the United States.
The Career Pathway Seminars are offered by the Graduate School on a monthly basis during the fall and spring semesters.
