Dr. Nitya Gulati, the John D. and Lili R. Bussel, Assistant Professor in Pediatric Hematology, has received a Winn Career Development Award from the Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials Award Program. The awards address one of medicine’s most persistent challenges: ensuring that all patients, particularly those not typically enrolled in research, benefit from cutting-edge science.
Dr. Mengze Lyu, instructor of microbiology and immunology in medicine, received the ICIS-Pfizer Junior Investigator Award from the International Cytokine & Interferon Society (ICIS). Up to four ICIS student or postdoc members with the highest scoring abstracts, per the scientific review committee, are chosen and invited to give an oral presentation or lightning talk at the cytokines annual meetings.
Dr. Elena Lister, clinical associate professor of psychiatry, has been awarded the Anna Freud Educational Achievement Award from the American Psychoanalytic Association, in recognition of her renowned work on grief. The award is presented annually by the association’s schools committee for psychoanalytically informed work with Pre-K–12 educators, schools and students.
Dr. Monika Safford, the John J. Kuiper Professor of Medicine, and Dr. Alice Tang, assistant professor of clinical medicine, received the Mentoring Academy Council Award for Mentoring Excellence in education. The award celebrates faculty who demonstrate exceptional commitment to mentoring students, trainees and fellow faculty across the Weill Cornell Medicine pillars of care, discover and teach.
