Dr. Manuel Hidalgo, chief of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology and the Walter B. Wriston Professor of Pancreatic Cancer Research, and Dr. Ari Melnick, the Gebroe Family Professor of Hematology/Oncology and a professor of medicine, were elected as fellows of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Academy. The academy’s mission is to recognize and honor scientists whose groundbreaking contributions have driven significant innovation and progress in the fight against cancer.
Dr. Fabrizio Michelassi, chair of the Department of Surgery and the Lewis Atterbury Stimson Professor of Surgery, received the Rosenthal Humanitarian Award from the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation-Greater New York Chapter. The award recognizes Dr. Michelassi’s dedication to improving care, research and support for crohn’s disease and colitis.
Dr. Santosh Murthy, associate professor of neuroscience, was one of 11 scientists to receive the 2025 Stroke Care in Emergency Medicine Award from the American Heart Association. The award recognizes Dr. Murthy’s exceptional professional achievements and contributions to stroke care and research.
Dr. Anais Rameau, associate professor of otolaryngology, was selected for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to Japan for the 2025-2026 academic year. Fulbright is the world’s largest international educational exchange program. Dr. Rameau’s grant reflects her leadership and contributions to society.
