The Cardiac Prevention and Intervention Center is seeking volunteers with Type-2 diabetes and high cholesterol for a clinical trial to determine whether two FDA-approved, cholesterol-lowering drugs—cerivastatin and fenofibrate—are more effective when taken singly or in combination.

This clinical trial will last up to 24 weeks. Participants may be male or female, from age 18 to 80. They will be assigned to one of four groups to receive cerivastatin or fenofibrate, singly or in combination, or a placebo. They will receive free physical exams, lab testing, dietary counseling, and compensation for completed visits.
