'Economics of AIDS' Is Topic of Arthur Ashe Endowment Lecture (Dec. 6)

Jeffrey Sachs, the Galen L. Stone Professor of International Trade and director of the Center for International Development at Harvard University, will be the 2001 Arthur Ashe Endowment Lecturer at Weill Cornell. Professor Sachs will present his lecture on "The Economics of AIDS" at Medical Grand Rounds on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. in Uris Auditorium.

The Ashe Endowment Lecture is sponsored by the Arthur Ashe Endowment for the Defeat of AIDS, which was established at the Medical College in 1995 in memory of Arthur Ashe. In addition to sponsoring an annual lecture, the Ashe Endowment supports an educational program for international health-care workers who come to the NewYork Weill Cornell Medical Center for special training in AIDS care.
