Weill Medical College and Graduate School of Medical Sciences are joining with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in honoring the many staff, volunteers and departments who showed their unity by working together in extraordinary ways, under incredible pressure and sadness, in response to the tragic events of Sept. 11.
On Tuesday, Dec. 11, all staff and volunteers are invited to participate in one of the five Day of Unity sessions that will be held in the Cayuga Room (cafeteria) at 7 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Each hour-long session will begin with remarks from Dr. Antonio Gotto, dean of the Medical College; Dr. Herbert Pardes, president of the Hospital; or Dr. Michael Berman, executive vice president and Hospital director. This will be followed by the sharing of stories of preparedness, strength and unity from employees and staff. A book of "Unity Stories" will be distributed in memory of the three Hospital EMTs who were lost in the World Trade Center disaster: Keith Fairben, Mario Santoro and James Pappageorge.
All members of the Medical Center community are welcome.
