Dr. Amanda Buch, a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychiatry, was selected as a 2024 HHMI Janelia Leading Edge Fellow. Leading Edge is an initiative that focuses on promoting gender diversity in life sciences. As a fellow, Dr. Bush will have the opportunity to showcase her work, connect with peers through mentorship and career development training. Fellows present their research at an annual symposium hosted by HHMI's Janelia Research Campus.
Dr. Carolina Cabalín, postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, and Dr. Mateo Alejandro Martínez-Roque, postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Pharmacology, were selected as 2024 Pew Latin American Fellows in the Biomedical Sciences. The program supports young scientists from Latin America in receiving postdoctoral training at American institutions, providing them the opportunity to further their scientific knowledge by promoting exchange and collaboration between investigators in the U.S. and Latin America.
Dr. Branden Sosa, a 2024 graduate of Weill Cornell Medical College, was the recipient of the National Medical Fellowships (NMF) Dr. James Curtis Scholarship. Each year, in conjunction with Weill Cornell Medicine, the NMF gives the award to a fourth-year graduating student in medicine who has demonstrated outstanding academic scholarship, leadership and involvement in community service in honor of Dr. Curtis.
