Dr. Judy Tung is committed to providing the best patient care, knowing the value of having someone who’s “got your back” when fighting illness. Five years ago, Dr. Tung, a mother of two young girls, was diagnosed with stage three stomach cancer. Suddenly a patient, she chose Weill Cornell Medicine to watch her back.
“I knew that if I wanted to have my best chance of survival, I should get my care at my own institution,” said Dr. Tung, an associate professor of clinical medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and chair of the Department of Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital. “I give 100 percent of myself to what I do, and I expect 100 percent in return. That’s the culture of Weill Cornell Medicine. People here give all that they can.”
