Dr. Olaf Andersen, professor of physiology and biophysics at Weill Cornell Medical College, was named by the Biophysical Society as one of its annual awards recipients.
Dr. Andersen, who also serves as the director of the Weill Cornell/Rockefeller/Sloan-Kettering Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program, received the Distinguished Service Award at the Society’s 55th Annual Meeting, held March 7 in Baltimore. One of eight members honored for their professional achievements, Dr. Andersen was recognized for his dedicated service to the membrane biophysics and physiology communities, and to the field of biophysics through his work at the Journal of General Physiology.
The Biophysical Society, founded in 1956, is a professional, scientific society established to encourage development and dissemination of knowledge in biophysics.
