Center Alumni Council Awards Dinner

Dr. Henri R. Ford

The NewYork Weill Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council (CAC) held its annual awards dinner on Nov. 18 to honor distinguished housestaff and new members of the Medical Center Circle, and to present the 2010 Distinguished Achievement Award.

The Distinguished Achievement Award was first presented in 1982 and is currently awarded every two years to a physician who has spent at least two years as a house officer or faculty member at the Medical Center; has developed a distinguished career at another institution; and is a graduate of a Medical College other than Weill Cornell Medical College.

This year's recipient is Dr. Henri R. Ford, vice president and chief of surgery at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and vice dean of medical education, professor and vice chair for clinical affairs at Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.

The Distinguished Housestaff Awards are presented annually to residents or members of the housestaff from each department who have been nominated by their department chair and residency program director for all-around excellence. There were 23 award recipients this year. They are:
