Dr. Shari Midoneck Is Named Associate Dean of Academic Affairs

Dr. Shari Midoneck

Dr. Shari Midoneck, The Ehrenkranz Family/Orli R. Etingin, M.D., Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in Women's Health and associate professor of clinical medicine, has been appointed to the position of associate dean of academic affairs at Weill Cornell Medical College, effective Jan. 1, 2010. Dr. Midoneck is also an associate attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

A 1989 alumnus of the Medical College, Dr. Midoneck completed her internal medicine training at The New York Hospital (now NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center) and completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at the Hospital. In 1994, she started her internal medicine practice at the Iris Cantor Women's Health Center at Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, where she has an interest in preventive care for women.

Dr. Midoneck is actively involved in the education of medical students, and serves as director of the third-year Introductory Clerkship at the Medical College. As a respected and talented teacher, she has won the WCMC Excellence in Teaching award four times, twice for her work as preceptor for the "Medicine, Patients and Society I" course and twice for her work as the course director for the Introductory Clerkship.

In addition to her new role, Dr. Midoneck will continue her internal medicine practice at the Iris Cantor Women's Health Center.
