Blumenthal Memorial Award: Drs. Arnold Cooper, Jack Barchas and Samuel Klagsbrun

Dr. Arnold Cooper, the Stephen P. Tobin and Dr. Arnold M. Cooper Professor Emeritus in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, was honored by the UJA–Federation of New York's Mental Health Professionals Division with the Mortimer J. Blumenthal Memorial Award at its annual fundraising reception on April 28. The UJA–Federation of New York is a philanthropic organization that aims to strengthen community and sustain the activities of more than 100 health, social-service, educational, and community agencies. It currently provides help to 1.4 million people in New York City, Westchester County and Long Island, as well as 3 million in Israel and 60 other countries. 


Dr. Marc Goldstein, the Matthew P. Hardy Distinguished Professor of Reproductive Medicine, was the Annual Guest Lecturer and Visiting Professor of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society ETA Chapter of New York at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. His May 6th lecture was titled "The Triple Threat: Clinician, Researcher, Teacher — Is It Still Possible?" On May 14, Dr. Goldstein was named the Tribute Honoree of the Residents and Fellows Alumni Society of SUNY Downstate, an award bestowed in recognition of the achievements of a graduate of a Downstate residency or fellowship program. Dr. Goldstein completed his urology residency at SUNY Downstate.
