
Avshalom Caspi, Ph.D.
Avshalom Caspi, Ph.D., a leading authority on adolescent antisocial behavior, has been awarded the Mortimer D. Sackler, M.D., Prize for Distinguished Achievement in Developmental Psychobiology. The award is presented jointly by the Sackler Institute for Developmental Psychobiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and the Sackler Institute for Development Psychobiology at Columbia University Medical Center, in honor of the 90th birthday of Dr. Sackler, philanthropist and C.E.O. of PurduePharma.
Dr. Caspi is a professor in the Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Research Centre affiliated with the Institute of Psychiatry at King's College London, and a professor of psychology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he co-directs the Developmental Program on Personality and Psychopathology. Dr. Caspi earned both his M.A. and Ph.D. in developmental psychology from Cornell University.
He will be presented with the $60,000 award at a ceremony in December at the Sackler Institute for Developmental Psychobiology at Columbia University Medical Center.
