Weill Cornell Hosts 'Shout' Gospel Band

WCM placeholder

Weill Cornell Medical College welcomed the McCullough Sons of Thunder, a 12-piece gospel house band at the United House of Prayer in Harlem, for a performance in Uris Auditorium on Wednesday, Oct 18.

The McCullough Sons of Thunder play "shout" gospel music, or gospel music for brass band, and are led by Elder Edward Babb on lead trombone. The band is known for a call-and-response style that strongly encourages the audience to dance, clap and shout along with the band.

The event was held as part of Weill Cornell's Humanities and Medicine program, which sponsors events throughout the academic year highlighting the intersection of art and medicine. The Humanities and Medicine program is sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs.
