This year's Employee Appreciation Day on March 11 brought Weill Cornell staff together for an afternoon of buoyant spirits and bountiful spreads inspired by various culinary destinations. In the Garden Cafe, a "Viva La Fiesta" theme helped to spice up the workday of Medical College and Hospital employees, with chicken, burritos, salsa and plenty of maracas to shake. Managers donned sombreros as they served up the picante plates. A sizzling stir-fry was served for the Finance Department at 100 Broadway. Platters of wraps and sandwiches at 575 Lexington Ave. enticed employees from the Physician Organization, the Office of Academic Computing and the Billing departments for Pediatrics, OB-GYN, Pathology and CRMI. The festivities created an atmosphere of relaxed merriment, while recognizing staff for jobs well done.
"This occasion is a celebration of our employees, our way of showing them how much we value and appreciate their dedication and commitment to Weill Cornell," said Susan McCreight, senior director of Human Resources for the Medical College.
