Dr. Henry Masur to Present Zucker Visiting Professor Lecture (May 15)

Dr. Henry Masur

Dr. Henry Masur, chief of critical care medicine and clinical professor of medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine, will be the guest of Weill Cornell's Department of Medicine as the 2003 Donald Zucker Visiting Professor on Thursday, May 15. Dr. Masur will present the Zucker Lecture at 11 a.m. in Uris Auditorium. His topic will be "HIV-Associated Opportunistic Infections from 1980 to the Era of HAART." 


Dr. Masur received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and did a fellowship in infectious diseases at Cornell (1974-1975). His major research interest involves the complications of HIV disease, with a focus on the pathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy, and prevention of pneumocystis pneumonia in patients with HIV and other immunosuppressive illnesses.

Inaugurated in 1985, the Zucker Visiting Professorship is made possible through the generosity of Donald Zucker, a longtime supporter of the Department of Medicine.
