
Dr. Ernest Ring
Dr. Ernest Ring, professor of radiology at the University of San Francisco, will be the guest of Weill Cornell's Department of Radiology as the John A. Evans Memorial Lecturer on Friday, May 2, at 5:15 p.m. in Weill Auditorium. His topic will be "The Role of Interventional Radiology in End-Stage Liver Disease and Liver Transplantation."
A native of Detroit, Dr. Ring is a graduate of Wayne State University, where he also received his medical degree in 1969.

The late Dr. John A. Evans
Dr. Ring was one of the first specialists in the field of interventional radiology and has helped develop techniques used in clinical research. His major research interest is in the treatment of liver disease and adaptation of interventional radiology procedures to the biliary tract and portal vein.
Dr. Ring is a past-president of the Society of Cardiovascular Surgery and is a member of the Board of Chancellors of the American College of Radiology. The recipient of numerous awards, Dr. Ring has co-authored hundreds of papers for medical journals.
The John A. Evans Lecture was established in 1976 and has been given annually to honor the late Dr. Evans, who served as chairman of radiology from 1952-1976. The lecture is held in the spring.
