Weill Cornell's Humanities and Medicine Program presents "Positive Exposure," a presentation in which former fashion photographer Rick Guidotti joins Dr. Diane McLean, Dr. Jessica Davis and Dr. Ronald Crystal in a unique collaboration to investigate the social and psychological experiences of people living with genetic, physical and mental health conditions of all ages and heritages. "Positive Exposure" will be held on Wednesday, March 19 at 5:00 p.m. in Uris Auditorium.
Rick Guidotti is director of Positive Exposure, a not-for-profit organization that celebrates the richness of genetic variation with positive images. Dr. Diane McLean, a graduate of Weill Medical College of Cornell University (M.D.) and Columbia University (Ph.D.), is co-director of the organization. At her graduation from Weill Medical College, Dr. McLean received the George G. Reader Prize in Public Health. Other participants will include Weill Cornell faculty Dr. Jessica Davis, associate professor of clinical pediatrics, and Dr. Ronald Crystal, chairman of the Department of Genetic Medicine.
The Weill Cornell Humanities and Medicine Series, begun in 1999, offers programs that add dimension to the appreciation of medicine in a broader context, specifically as it relates to the arts and humanities. Along with contributions from outside speakers, the series will capitalize on the talents and interests of Weill Cornell students, faculty and staff to enhance the educational experience, and to enrich the community.
