At the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions in Chicago, Ill. last November, three Weill Cornell presenters were selected as finalists for the competition in electrophysiology.
Dr. Steven Hao, for his work, "Beta Blockade Flattens the Cardiac Action Potential Duration Restitution Curve"
Dr. Suneet Mittal, for his presentation "In Search of an Optimal Tilt Test Protocol"
Dr. Kenneth Stein for "Do T-Wave Alternans and EP Testing Yield Complementary or Concordant Results?"
In addition, Dr. Hao was chosen as a finalist for the Laennec Society Young Clinician Award sponsored by the Council of Clinical Cardiology, where he presented "A 42-Year-Old Man with Unexplained Syncope." He was honored at the annual council dinner during the AHA Scientific Sessions. As a finalist, Dr. Hao received $500 and a plaque. The award recognizes the importance of clinical acumen, inductive analytic skills, and teaching ability in future academic cardiologists.
The AHA Scientific Sessions identify outstanding endeavors by new investigators in research activities and encourage continued biomedical research careers broadly related to cardiovascular function and diseases, including basic science, integrated physiology and clinical problems.
