Dr. Ledger Honored by Colleagues and Friends in Ob/Gyn

Dr. William Ledger, chairman emeritus and professor of obstetrics and gynecology, was recently honored by his colleagues and friends on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology organized a special international symposium on Unresolved Infectious Disease Issues in Obstetrics and Gynecology held on Oct. 11 at Weill Cornell and hosted a birthday party that evening at the Cornell Club in midtown.

Dr. Ledger, who is a leading authority on infectious diseases in obstetrics and gynecology, served as chairman of the department from 1979 to 1999, when he became chairman emeritus. He continues his active clinical practice and research program, and also directs the department's residency program and the student obstetrics/gynecology clerkship.

Dr. Ledger receives a gift presented by Dr. Frank Chervenak, who succeeded Dr. Ledger as chairman of obstetrics and gynecology.
