Department of Surgery Hosts Golf & Tennis Benefit

The Department of Surgery hosted its first annual Golf & Tennis Tournament to benefit the department's surgical education and research programs on Oct. 1, at the Pelham Country Club in Pelham Manor, N.Y. More than 50 people participated in the inaugural event, which included golfing on a well-kept course, tennis and a five-star dinner.

Awards for "The Best Foursome" went to Peter Crean and Bill Brady of Martin Clearwater & Bell, one of New York's oldest and largest trial and appellate law firms; Michael Coulston of the Department of Legal Affairs at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH); and Dr. Philip Barie, professor of surgery and chief of critical care.

The Department of Surgery is looking forward to hosting the second annual golf and tennis benefit on Sept. 30, 2003.
