Save the Date: Greenberg Award to Honor Dr. Vaughan (May 2)

Dr. E. Darracott Vaughan

Dr. E. Darracott Vaughan Jr., chairman emeritus of the Department of Urology and the James J. Colt Professor of Urology at Weill Cornell, will be honored as the 26th recipient of the NewYork Weill Cornell Medical Center's Maurice R. Greenberg Distinguished Service Award. The award will be presented at a dinner at the Plaza Hotel on Thursday, May 2. 


Established in 1981, with a generous gift from Maurice R. Greenberg, the Greenberg Award is the highest honor bestowed to a senior member of the medical staff at the NewYork Weill Cornell Medical Center in recognition of exceptional and long-standing service to the Medical Center.

Dr. Vaughan joined the Medical College in 1978 as head of the Division of Urology. In 1993, he was appointed senior associate dean for clinical affairs at the Medical College, and in 1994 he was named the first chairman of the Department of Urology. He currently serves as medical director of Weill Cornell's Physician Organization.

In 2001, Dr. Vaughan became president of the American Urological Association.
