Last WTC Victim Released From Burn Center

 Donovan Cowan, a severely injured victim from the World Trade Center tragedy, was the final WTC patient released from the NewYork Weill Cornell Burn Center on Feb. 21. He was transferred to the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, for further rehabilitative treatment, and will continue to receive care at the Burn Center on an outpatient basis. 


Mr. Cowan, a 34-year-old accountant of Fiduciary Trust (which has since relocated to Rockefeller Center), was brought to the Burn Center in very critical condition, with third-degree burns over 50 percent of his body and suffering from severe smoke inhalation injuries. He was working on the 97th floor at 2 World Trade Center when the Sept. 11th attacks occurred.

Mr. Cowan, who resides in Flatbush, Brooklyn, underwent four skin grafts during his stay at the Burn Center.

The Burn Center treated 18 of the most critically injured patients from the World Trade Center.
