More than 50 Weill Cornell clinical faculty who reviewed and edited information on Rosie O'Donnell's Rosiemagazine.com Health Library website are listed on the Web site under the heading "Our Exclusive Panel of Medical Experts."

Dr. Daniel Alonso, dean of the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, was interviewed about the new Weill Cornell location by WUNC Radio (Chapel Hill, N.C.).

Dr. Linda Applegarth (psychology in obstetrics and gynecology) was interviewed by Time magazine about the increase in the number of couples seeking in vitro fertilization after the World Trade Center tragedy.

Dr. Louis Aronne (medicine) was interviewed by WABC-TV about nighttime binge eating, and by Woman's World about the links between coffee, cravings, weight and diet.

Dr. Phyllis August (medicine) was interviewed by Rosie.com about water retention and its role in causing hypertension.

Dr. Charles Bardes (medicine) was interviewed by the Associated Press about the potential decline in medical school applications because of a technological snafu in processing applicants' MCAT results.

Dr. Barbara Bartlik (psychiatry) was interviewed about female physical and emotional reactions to tension during sex.

Dr. David Behrman (dental, oral, and maxillofacial surgery) was interviewed by Glamour about tongue pimples.

Dr. Lauren Broch (psychology in psychiatry) was interviewed by Crain's New York Business about lack of sleep among New Yorkers since the World Trade Center tragedy.

Dr. Mark Callahan (medicine) was interviewed by the Daily News about the mortality rate from anthrax.

Dr. Ronald Crystal (medicine) was interviewed by Panorama (an Italian publication) about hair replacement gene therapy.

Drs. John Daly and Dennis Fowler (surgery) will be featured in an upcoming issue of New York magazine, which will detail important new developments in minimally invasive and robotic surgery.

Dr. Richard Devereux (medicine) was interviewed by Salon.com about Osama bin Laden's alleged Marfan syndrome.

Dr. Marc Goldstein (urology) was interviewed by Healthscout.com about the clinical implications of a male infertility study in the current New England Journal of Medicine.

Dr. Antonio Gotto was interviewed at a number of events at the recent American Heart Association conference in Anaheim, largely about the effectiveness of the cholesterol-lowering statin drugs for primary and secondary cardiac prevention. Media included The New York Times, Washington Post, Associated Press, United Press International, Dow Jones Newswire, WGN-TV (Chicago), French TV, Bloomberg Radio and Smart Health Magazine. Earlier, he commented on WABC-TV about a Nov. 7 article in the Journal of the American Medical Association, "Protein Associated with Inflammation Identifies Heart Patients at Increased Risk of Death."

Dr. Claudia Henschke (radiology) was interviewed by WNBC-TV about CT screening for early lung cancer detection (the NY-ELCAP program); this was occasioned by Lung Cancer Awareness Month. In addition, she was interviewed by WCBS-TV about smoking cessation and by WNBC-TV about NY-ELCAP; these interviews were occasioned by the Great American Smokeout Day (Nov. 15).

Dr. William Ledger (obstetrics and gynecology) was interviewed by Dowden & Publications about new treatments and procedures in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Margaret Moline (psychiatry) appeared in a video news release produced by Menuco Corporation about her research evaluating the effects of the nutritional supplement NADH on sleep deprivation.

Dr. John Moore (microbiology and immunology) was interviewed by Nature Medicine about proposed legislation to reduce the number of visas granted by the U.S. to foreign students and postdocs.

Dr. Kutluk Oktay (obstetrics and gynecology) was interviewed by Self magazine about ovarian tissue transplant to the forearm to preserve ovarian function (from Drs. Oktay and Zev Rosenwaks' article in JAMA).

Dr. Mark Pochapin (medicine) was interviewed by Gastroenterology & Endoscopy News about hot biopsy vs. snare polypectomy for colorectal polyps.

Dr. Martin Prince (radiology) was interviewed by RT Image magazine about the pros and cons of magnetic resonance angiography (MRA).

Dr. Shahin Rafii (medicine) and Dr. David Lyden (pediatrics) were interviewed by Newsday and Cornell Chronicle about their breakthrough discovery that tumor angiogenesis depends on bone marrow stem cells (study published in Nature Medicine).

Dr. Norman Relkin (neurology and neuroscience) was interviewed by Bloomberg Radio about the use of PET scanning to predict Alzheimer's disease (engendered by an article in the Nov. 7 JAMA), and about the use of pain relievers like Advil to allegedly lower the risk of Alzheimer's disease.

Dr. Michael W. Schuster (medicine) was interviewed by HealthNewsDigest.com about a new clinical trial of a novel multiple-myeloma vaccine.

Dr. Philip Wilner (psychiatry) was interviewed by Money magazine about access to mental health services.

Dr. Roger Yurt (surgery) was highlighted as part of the team at the Burn Center who was thanked by former patient and World Trade Center survivor Manu Dhingra in a segment on the Oprah Winfrey Show devoted to individuals who have various reasons to be thankful. Dr. Yurt was also featured on WCBS-TV about the release from the Hospital of another World Trade Center burn patient.
