Cabaret, the annual gala hosted jointly by Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, was held on Oct. 30 at an inspiring new location—the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on the Upper West Side. Nearly 800 guests—trustees, overseers, donors and other friends of the Medical Center—turned out for the celebration.

Co-chairing the gala were Weill Cornell Overseer Marc Shapiro (vice chairman, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.) with his wife, Jeri, and Hospital Trustee Ivan Seidenberg (co-chief executive officer, Verizon) with his wife, Phyllis.

Jane Ren, Bill Rhodes, Christina MacDonald, Joan Weill, and Addie and Tom Jones.

The evening benefit raised approximately $1.8 million, which will be distributed equally to support programs at the Medical College and Hospital.

Among the guests from Weill Cornell were Dr. Antonio Gotto, dean of the Medical College, and his wife, Anita, and Medical College overseers, life overseers and their spouses, including Kevin and Mattie Brine, Sandy and Lisa Ehrenkranz, Eleanor and Jock Elliott, Leonard and Fleur Harlan, Tom and Addie Jones, Harold and Nicki Tanner and Stephen and Suzanne Weiss—as well as many other friends and benefactors.

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital was equally well-represented by Dr. Herbert Pardes, president and CEO, and many Hospital trustees.

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the world's largest cathedral and one of New York's most beautiful landmarks—as well as a symbol of liberty and respect for all peoples—provided a dramatic setting for the dinner dance and entertainment, which featured amazing high-flying aerialists from the Big Apple Circus.
