Dr. Kanti Rai, the Richard T. Silver Visiting Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell.

Dr. Kanti Rai will be the guest of the Department of Medicine as the Richard T. Silver Visiting Professor for 2001-2002. Dr. Rai is professor of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He will present a lecture on "Advances in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia" during Medical Grand Rounds on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. in Uris Auditorium.

The Richard T. Silver Visiting Professorship is supported by the Cancer Research and Treatment Fund in honor of Dr. Silver, who is professor of medicine (hematology-oncology) at Weill Cornell and an internationally recognized authority on the leukemias, polycythemia vera, and other myeloproliferative disorders. Last year, through a major gift endowment from the Cancer Research and Treatment Fund, the Richard T. Silver Distinguished Professorship of Hematology and Medical Oncology was also established at Weill Cornell in honor of Dr. Silver.
