
Francoise Freyre
Francoise Freyre, formerly director of student affairs for the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, has been named assistant dean of the Graduate School.
"I am delighted to make this appointment, which formalizes the many academic responsibilities that Francoise has undertaken beyond student affairs," said Dr. David Hajjar, dean of the Graduate School and vice provost.
Ms. Freyre's responsibilities as assistant dean include fiscal administration, student orientation and student affairs, monitoring students' fulfillment of degree requirements, and alumni relations. In addition, she serves as the Graduate School's liaison with the Medical College and the Sloan-Kettering Institute.
Ms. Freyre became administrative manager of the Graduate School in 1993, having previously worked for the Medical College in the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was promoted to director of student affairs for the Graduate School in 1999. While employed at Cornell, she earned her bachelor's degree in biology/education from Hunter College and her master's degree in higher education administration/student personnel services from New York University.
