The new Information Desk in the Weill Cornell lobby.

Weill Cornell's newly renovated lobby entrance at 69th Street and York Avenue opened on Tuesday, Sept. 4, as faculty, students and staff returned from the Labor Day weekend.

A new service in the lobby is an Information Desk adjacent to the Library entrance. The Information Desk is staffed by an information assistant from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday. (The information staff work in the Medical Library's circulation department and rotate hours working at the Information Desk.) A security officer is also in the lobby 24 hours, seven days a week.

Other lobby enhancements include new ceiling lighting, more wall space for donor recognition, and new cabinents for displays and exhibits.

The outside entrance to the lobby has also been upgraded and enlarged. A glass canopy over the steps now provides more protection in bad weather.

The new lobby has more wall space to recognize major friends and supporters of Weill Cornell.
