The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has invited Dr. Mark Evans of the MCP Hahnemann University to be the 2001 Fritz Fuchs Memorial Lecturer at Weill Medical College. Dr. Evans is professor and chairman of obstetrics and gynecology, professor of human genetics, and director of the Fetal Therapy Program at MCP Hahnemann University. He will present the Fritz Fuchs Memorial Lecture on Sept. 10 (5 p.m. in Uris Auditorium) on the topic "Fetal Therapy: State of the Art."
The memorial lecture is named for the late Dr. Fuchs, who was chairman of obstetrics and gynecology at Cornell University Medical College from 1965 to 1978. Dr. Fuchs, who died in 1995, was noted for his research in the endocrinology and physiology of human reproduction.
