The renovation work will include a canopy covering the entrance steps on York Avenue that will look like this.
Starting Monday, May 28, the Medical College entrance at 69th Street and York Avenue will close for about 12 weeks while the entrance and lobby undergo major renovation. During the renovation work, an entrance door on York Avenue (near 70th Street) leading to the A building will be used as a temporary entrance.
The temporary entrance should be used only by Weill Cornell students, faculty, staff and visitors. All persons going to the Hospital should use the Hospital entrances at 68th Street and 70th Street.
Access to the Medical College Library will be through a library entrance door near the elevators of the Lasdon Biomedical Research Center and the E building on the first floor. (Library hours may be modified during the summer.)
Uris Auditorium will be accessible through the basement entrances to the auditorium.
Renovation of the outside entrance will include a canopy over the steps. The renovated lobby will include relocation of the security desk and enhanced space for appropriate acknowledgement of individuals who have been major benefactors of Weill Cornell, providing important support for its missions in education, research and clinical care.
