Dr. Daniel Alonso (dean's office) was interviewed by The New York Times and Radio MIDRE (of Argentina) about his future assignment as the first dean of Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. The establishment of the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, which was announced on April 9, was widely covered in the local, national and international press. Dr. Louis Aronne (medicine) was interviewed by Fox-5 television on lifestyle changes to combat obesity. The New York Post also interviewed him about controlling obesity and the latest in obesity research.

Dr. Barbara Bartlik (psychiatry) gave interviews about female sexuality to Mademoiselle magazine, LifetimeTV.com and Maxim Online.

Dr. Flint Beal (neurology and neuroscience) was interviewed by Science Times magazine about Huntington's disease.

Dr. Sandra Belmont (ophthalmology) was interviewed by the New York Post on laser eye surgery for near- and far-sightedness. She was also cited by the Post as "Best in New York" for laser eye surgery. Time magazine also interviewed her on keratoplasty (corneal grafts).

Dr. Marylene Cloitre (psychiatry) and Weill Medical College's Payne Whitney Clinic were cited in an article on treating anxiety and traumatic stress in Manhattan Today.

Dr. Bassem El-Masri (medicine) was interviewed for a feature article in Men's Journal on heart disease prevention.

Dr. Roger Emert (medicine) was interviewed by Fox News and the New York Post about allergies. The Daily News interviewed him about the process of a cold.

Dr. Joseph Fins (medicine) was interviewed by U.S.News & World Report and The New Physician about ethics education in American medicine. Dr. Fins' appointment as chief of the Medical College's new Division of Medical Ethics was covered by Manhattan Today.

Dr. Marc Goldstein (urology) was interviewed by Bride's magazine on vasectomy. On Healthscout.com (syndicated to The New York Times), he spoke on a possible connection between the sperm of older men and the higher incidence of schizophrenia in their children (as reported in an article recently published in Archives of General Psychiatry).

Dr. Antonio Gotto (medicine) was interviewed by U.S.News & World Report about cholesterol-lowering statins. His editorial on primary prevention of cardiac disease (from the April 9 Archives of Internal Medicine) was covered by CBSHealthWatch.com.

Dr. Robert Guida (otorhinolaryngology) was interviewed by UPN-9 for a rebroadcast story on the use of plastic surgery and creams for the removal of tattoos.

Dr. Diane Hughes (surgery) was interviewed by Parents magazine about tooth development in children.

Dr. Jonathan Jacobs (medicine) was interviewed by Fox-5 television on two subjects: Rutgers University students contracting a rare lung infection in Acapulco and a histoplasmosis outbreak.

Dr. Milan Kinkhabwala (surgery) was interviewed by WebMD about endoscopic debridement for the pancreas.

Dr. Arthur Klein (pediatrics) was interviewed by The Economist on affiliations between small hospitals and larger medical centers.

Dr. Shari Midoneck (medicine) was interviewed about staphylococcal infections for both Rosie magazine and Rosie.com, Rosie O'Donnell's new health-care Web site.

Dr. Robert Min (radiology) was interviewed by Woman's World on alternatives to hysterectomy.

Dr. Maria New (pediatrics) was interviewed by the CBS Weekend News on early puberty.

Dr. Joel Pardee (dean's office, Weill Graduate School of Medical Sciences) was filmed by WABC-TV on April 3 as part of its coverage of the Cornell Science Challenge science fair for seventh-grade students from the Eastside Middle School in P.S. 158. (Weill Cornell students serve as mentors for the students in their science classes.)

Dr. Mark Pochapin (medicine) gave advice on how to treat flatulence in the Washington Post.

Dr. Rache Simmons (surgery) explained for Health magazine how a new surgical procedure receives IRB and FDA approval.

Drs. Henry Spinelli and Alvaro Vallejo (surgery) were interviewed by UPN-9 about keloid surgery.

Dr. Roger Yurt (surgery) and Rabbi Stephen Roberts (pastoral care and education) participated in a press conference on burn safety during the Jewish observance of Passover, which frequently includes the use of candles. The press conference was covered by the Daily News; NY1; WABC-TV; and WNYC, WINS, WCBS and WFUV radio.
