Dr. Selina Chen-Kiang
Dr. Selina Chen-Kiang, professor of pathology, will be honored as Researcher of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on March 29, when the society hosts its Spirit of Discovery Ball at Cipriani 42nd Street. Last year, Dr. Chen-Kiang received a $7.5 million, five-year SCOR grant from the society to direct research initiatives aimed at discovering the fundamental causes of multiple myeloma.
Dr. John Daly, the Lewis Atterbury Stimson Professor and chairman of the Department of Surgery, was named president-elect of the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) at its annual meeting on March 17. Dr. Daly has served on the SSO's Executive Council and is a former treasurer of the society. He has also represented the society on the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Daly also serves on the editorial boards of Annals of Surgical Oncology and Cancer.
