The Office of Public Affairs will host a breakfast presentation for the news media on Thursday, Feb. 1, at which three of Weill Cornell's leading experts on complementary and integrative medicine will make presentations. Following introductions by Dean Antonio Gotto and Senior Associate Dean Lisa Staiano-Coico, the speakers will be:
Dr. Mary Charlson, the William T. Foley Distinguished Professor in Medicine and executive director of Weill Cornell's Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine (CCIM): "Complementary and Integrative Medicine: The Promise and the Risk."
Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, assistant professor of medicine and CCIM medical director: "When Food Is Medicine: Prospects and Problems."
Dr. Eloy Rodriguez, the James A. Perkins Professor of Environmental Studies at Cornell University; director of CU's Biodiversity Laboratory in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; and CCIM associate director for drug discovery & herbal biochemistry: "Green Medicine and Scorpion Anticancer Drugs: From Jungle to Bench to Bedside."
The program will be held in Uris Faculty Room (A-126). Breakfast will be served beginning at 8:30 a.m., and the presentations will begin at 9 a.m.. This is an opportunity not only for the news media but also for members of the Weill Cornell community to learn more about our new Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine.
