Dr. Wayne Isom, chairman of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, who won the American Heart Association's Bugher Foundation Award for Achievement in Cardiovascular Science and Medicine.
Dr. Gillian Shepherd, clinical associate professor of medicine, who was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI).
Dr. Jon Thorson (pharmacology and biochemistry & structural biology) and Dr. Gero Miesenbock (cell biology & genetics and neuroscience), both of the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, who were awarded prestigious Sloan Foundation Research Fellowships.
Sara Glickstein, '00, of the Weill Cornell Graduate School, who won one of three 1999 Robinson-Appel Humanitarian Awards for her creation of the WGSMS Cornell Science Challenge, an innovative program that promotes scientific discovery at an underserved New York City public school.
