Millennium Lecture Series Continues With Nobel Laureate Gunter Blobel on April 18

Dr. Gunter Blobel, last year's Nobel Prize Recipient for Medicine and professor of cell biology at The Rockefeller University, continues the prestigious Millennium Lecture Series—"Revolutionizing Medicine in the 21st Century: The Impact of Genetics and Molecular Biology"—on Tuesday, April 18, at 7 p.m., at the American Museum of Natural History (Central Park West at 79th Street). In a talk entitled "The Empowered Cell," Dr. Blobel leads us on a tour into the heart of the cell, the fundamental unit of all life. Using a groundbreaking film that vividly illustrates complex cellular processes, Dr. Blobel highlights how recent discoveries are transforming our understanding of the cellular causes of disease and offering possibilities for novel treatment strategies.
