New York, NY (January 2000) — Larry Schafer, Vice President and Vice Provost for Development, has announced the appointment of Cameron C. Dubes, an expert in health care fundraising and development strategic planning, as Director of Development for the New York Weill Cornell Center of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
In this capacity, Mr. Dubes is responsible for organizing and leading the fundraising initiatives for Weill Medical College and the New York Weill Cornell Center.
Prior to his position with New York Weill Cornell, Mr. Dubes was Assistant Vice President for Community Counselling Service Co., Inc., where he managed two highly successful health care capital campaigns raising $54 million for Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta and Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland. Prior to that, he was an independent consultant working with a diverse mix of clients, which included Kids Peace and a Children of Chernobyl pediatric health care project in Kiev, Ukraine for Greenpeace International.
Before entering the consulting field, Mr. Dubes was Director of Campaign Operations for Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington, D.C. Prior to that position, he managed marketing communications programs for CNMC which included developing their current, award-winning organizational identity program.
A native of Iowa, Mr. Dubes obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business and Journalism from Iowa State University.
