Dr. Pegah Afra, associate professor of clinical neurology, has been named co-chair of the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society’s program committee. Members of the society utilize neurophysiology techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with disorders of the nervous system and in research examining the function of the nervous system in health and disease.
Dr. Massimo Loda, chairman of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the David D. Thompson Professor of Pathology, and Dr. Jim Hu, the Ronald P. Lynch Professor of Urologic Oncology and a professor of urology, have been awarded the Prostate Cancer Foundation’s Special Challenge Award. This award funds cross-disciplinary teams of investigators to help support transformational prostate cancer research. Ranging from $300,000 to $1,500,000 per year for three years, these awards cover direct costs of the research.
