Dr. Rossella Marullo, research associate in medicine, has won an American Society of Hematology Fellow to Faculty Scholar Award in Translational Research. One of the society’s longest-standing programs, the award is designed to support hematologists who have chosen a career in research. She received the award, which provides $125,000 in financial support, on Dec. 20, 2019.
Carrie Sha, a second-year medical student at Weill Cornell Medical College, has received a Medical Student Scholarship to the Annual Meeting from the American Academy of Neurology. The purpose of the award is to help stimulate students’ interest in pursuing the field of neurology by offering them the opportunity to attend the academy's annual meeting.
Dr. Richard T. Silver, professor emeritus of medicine, received the Celgene Career Achievement Award for Clinical Research in Hematology on Dec. 7, 2019. A $25,000 grant will be awarded to Weill Cornell Medicine in recognition of Dr. Silver's significant contributions to the field of hematology. Dr. Silver was nominated by Dr. Ghaith Abu-Zeinah, a faculty member in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology.
