Awards and Honors

Dr. Elizabeth K. Arleo, assistant professor of radiology, was appointed in April to the Association of University Radiologists’ Academic Faculty Development Program. The program focuses on mentorship, leadership and academic development activities for mid-career radiologists. The association is a society of academic radiologists that strives to promote excellence in radiology research and education and advance the field of medical radiology.

Dr. Linda A. Heier, professor of clinical radiology, was in April inducted as a fellow of the American College of Radiology. Fellowship is one of the highest honors the college can bestow on a radiologist, radiation oncologist, or medical physicist and it recognizes their distinguished service to the college and to the field through teaching or research. The American College of Radiology aims to maximize the value of radiology for society and patients by advancing radiology research, education and its applications in the medical field.

Dr. Neil M. Khilnani, associate professor of clinical radiology, was appointed chair of the Society of Interventional Radiology’s Venous Service Line in March. The Venous Service Line encourages interventional radiologists to work in concert with patients and their primary care physicians when venous disease is diagnosed. The society is a national organization of physicians, scientists and allied health professionals dedicated to improving public health through disease management and minimally invasive, image-guided therapeutic interventions.
